“Red Earth” feature film project announced
PANO - On May 17, Viettel Media, Production Q Communications Company, and director Le Van Kiet officially announced the launch of the “Dat Do” (Red Earth) feature film project.
Set in Long My War Zone and Ba Ria revolutionary base, the film takes audiences back to a time when a generation of young people, not yet fully grown, had to live amidst bombs, bullets, and the brutality of war.

Against that backdrop, the film portrays 13-year-old Vo Thi Sau as an innocent and cheerful girl who carried simple dreams like many other young girls. However, amidst the harsh realities of war, Vo Thi Sau chose to join the fight for the nation.
Director Le Van Kiet shared that beyond recreating the image of heroine Vo Thi Sau, the film will also delve deeply into the inner lives of members of the Dat Do Volunteer Security Team.
Alongside the project announcement, the Dat Do production team also launched a large-scale casting campaign in Ho Chi Minh City and several neighboring localities.
The film is expected to premiere in 2027 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the death of heroic martyr Vo Thi Sau (1952-2027).
