Yosakoi is a traditional Japanese dance style. The 4th Vietnam Yosakoi Festival takes place on April 25 and 26, contributing to the strengthening of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Japan. The event also looks ahead to the 53rd anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and welcomes the upcoming visit to Vietnam by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
Performing at the opening ceremony were five Vietnamese Yosakoi teams from Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Can Tho, along with five Japanese teams from Tokyo and Osaka, with a total of 242 dancers.
The performances created a lively and emotional atmosphere, showcasing the distinctive spirit of Yosakoi, powerful, joyful, and full of positive energy. The festival is not only an artistic event but also a cultural bridge where the values of exchange, learning, and connection are shared.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange Association Le Ngoc Dinh said that the festival helps the public better understand the beauty of cultural exchange, promotes friendly cooperation between Vietnam and Japan, and raises the profile of Tam Chuc as a tourist destination. It also supports broader cooperation between Ninh Binh irovince and Japanese partners in culture, tourism, economy, trade, and investment.
Following the opening event at Tam Chuc Tourist Area, the 4th Vietnam Yosakoi Festival 2026 will continue through April 26 at AEON Mall Ha Dong in Ha Noi. The venue will host 30 performing teams, including 21 from Vietnam and 9 from Japan. With a large number of dancers and high professional standards, this year’s performances are expected to be more dynamic than ever, colorful, energetic, creative, and accessible, offering audiences a vibrant artistic experience.
