Experts visit the museum.

The museum will host visitors from 8:30a.m. to 11:30a.m. and from 2:00p.m. to 5:00p.m, from Tuesdays to Sundays to collect more opinions before the official opening next year. 

General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum was established under Decision 5764/QD-UBND of the Hanoi municipal People’s Committee and following his family members’ wishes. The museum at 81 Tan Nhue, Thuy Phuong ward, Bac Tu Liem district has been designed based on the model of the house at No.34 Ly Nam De street, Cua Dong ward, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi where the General’s family lived from 1958 to 1986 and received President Ho Chi Minh many times. Notably, there on August 6, 1964, President Ho Chi Minh convened a meeting of the Politburo to discuss the fight for Southern liberation.

Exhibits, including 200 photos, 220 items and documents, ten scientific documents, six documentary films, 100 books, and 23 bronze casts, are divided into eight main themes, namely Hometown – revolution in the Central region; Viet Bac; Military building; Peace-building in the North; Revolutionary struggle for the South; July 6; Hearts of the beloved; Family – Continued journey. 

The showcased items fully recall the life and revolutionary career of General Nguyen Chi Thanh, his hometown of Thua Thien Hue, military building, socialism building in the North, and the fight for national reunification in the South.

In General Nguyen Chi Thanh’s hometown in Thua Thien Hue province, the museum at 144, Dang Thai Than street, Hue city, was put into operation a year ago and received around 8,000 visitors.
