Festival to mark decade of UNESCO recognition of Quan ho folk singing
PANO - The “Returning to the land of Quan ho 2019” festival on February 23 opened in Bac Ninh province to mark 10 years since the Quan Ho folk singing was recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of mankind.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam emphasized that since the Quan Ho folk singing was recognized by UNESCO as an element of intangible cultural heritage of mankind, local authorities and people have made great efforts to preserve and further promote the heritage.

The activities of restoration and information dissemination on the heritage are important tasks of the province, he added. The Deputy PM also asked the provincial authorities to apply appropriate measures to preserving and promoting the values of Quan Ho folk singing.
An artistic program was held during the festival to recreate the history of formation and development of Kinh Bac land associated with cultural values, especially with the birth of Quan Ho folk singing, and honor the values of the intangible cultural heritage of mankind.
On the occasion, Bac Ninh province also received the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit in recognition of its efforts to the preserve and promote of the values of Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk singing.
