Dances changed from during ancient Egypt to the US’s post-contemporary period will be displayed in body language by Beau Geste group and famous choreographer Dominique Boivin from France in a joyful and poetic programme entitled “Dance, story told my way” to take place on April 7 at the Ben Thanh Theatre, Ho Chi Minh City.

Choreographer cum dancer Dominique Boivin, nicknamed the Disobedient Boy, hopes to entertain Vietnamese theatre-goers with his funny and individual gestures.

Dominique Boivin confided that composing this solo composition is a challenge because it is not easy for a dancer to express the history of dancing art, styles and periods, female and male characters with body gestures.

Composers and works that influenced his art career and other dancers of 20th century are selected to be performed in this programme.

Born in Mont Saint-Aignan, Dominique Boivin used to watch dancing in New York and then went back France to found the dance troupe Beau Geste, which has been highly applauded inside and outside France.
