According to the organizing panel, this year’s festival has received 734 entries from 100 participating units. The competition covers 11 categories, including children's programs, documentaries, reportages, short reportages, science-education programs, dialogue-discussion programs, ethnic minority language programs, music and dance programs, stage performances, television dramas, and digital platform videos. The jury panel will select the top 5% of entries for Golden Prizes.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Thanh Lam, General Director of the Vietnam Television and Chairman of the 42nd National Television Festival, highlighted the festival’s focus on "Digital Transformation - Content Innovation - Multi-platform Development." This direction serves as a guiding principle for Vietnam’s broadcasting and media industry in the digital era.

Within the framework of the festival, key professional workshops will include "Essential Skills for TV Journalists in the Digital Environment," "Applying Technology in Digital Transformation for TV Stations," and "Introduction to the VTV Ratings Measurement System." These events will foster knowledge exchange and professional development, offering a platform for industry experts to share insights, innovations, and breakthrough solutions for Vietnam’s television industry.
A special seminar on artificial intelligence (AI) will explore cutting-edge solutions for Vietnam’s broadcasting sector. Additionally, the festival will feature a television technology exhibition, a photo exhibition showcasing TV outstanding personnel, community welfare activities, and promotional events highlighting Binh Dinh’s cultural and natural beauties.

Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Binh Dinh provincial People's Committee, emphasized that the 42nd National Television Festival is more than just a gathering of TV professionals.
