Addressing the opening ceremony, the Vice Chairman of Vietnam Youth Federation Nguyen Hai Ninh affirmed that Vietnam and Cambodia have maintained close neighborliness and long-lasting traditional friendship. The two countries supported each other’s independence and sovereignty during the resistance wars against imperialism in the past and in the current cause of socio-economic development. The traditional friendship of Vietnam and Cambodia has become a treasure of the two countries.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee of Tay Ninh province Nguyen Thanh Ngoc also stressed that the festival has contributed to further deepening and tightening the traditional friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between the two countries in general, and between the young generations of Vietnam and Cambodia, and young journalists in particular. The festival has also positively contributed to the socio-economic development of each country, stability and prosperity in the region, and the practical interests of the two peoples.

Lasting until November 8, the festival features various activities, including a seminar on the role of media in strengthening the friendship between youths of the two countries, planting trees, inaugurating a playground for border children, and visiting outstanding economic models in Tay Ninh province and HCM City.
