The event was jointly organized by Ho Chi Minh City’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the city’s Youth Union Chapter and socio-political organizations.

The program is part of the practical activities to mark the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam – Cambodia diplomatic ties (June 24, 1967 -2022) and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam – Laos diplomatic ties (September 5, 1962 – 2022). The activity also aims to give Lao and Cambodian students studying in Vietnam to an opportunity to experience the daily life of Vietnamese families.  

Through the program, the organizing panel expects to promote relationship between Lao and Cambodian students and Vietnamese people and partly give material and spiritual support to foreign students studying in Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, the event is to help Lao and Cambodian students learn more about Vietnam, its people, culture, history, and tradition, especially the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

The program will take place from April to December with various activities, including the Vietnamese – Lao – Cambodian Families’ Festival, Ho Chi Minh City’s leaders’ visits to families joining the event, and a visit to revolutionary base in Ba Ria – Vung Tau.

Speaking at the event, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Ngo Thanh Son emphasized the significance of the program. He said that the event will help diversify exchange activities between people of the three countries, popularize Vietnam, its people, culture, history, and tradition, especially the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation among Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia to people in the city and Lao and Cambodia students.

During the event, the organizing panel and the city’s districts will work closely together to manage, encourage, and create favorable conditions for the students to take part in social activities.

On the occasion, the organizing panel handed over 50 Lao and Cambodian students to 34 families joining the “Vietnamese families with Lao and Cambodian students studying in Ho Chi Minh City” program in 2022.
