During the phone talks, Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed high appreciation of Singapore’s support for Vietnam, especially its commitment to offering Vietnam essential medical supplies and equipment for the COVID-19 battle.

Particularly, the Singaporean Temasek Foundation presented 16 ventilators and hundreds of thousands of medical supplies to Vietnam on September 6.
These meaningful gifts are seen as vivid evidence featuring the close ties and strategic partnership between the two countries.
Congratulating Singapore on becoming the first nation in the world to have 80 percent of its population receiving two doses of COVID-19 vaccine, the Vietnamese minister also called on the Singaporean side to consider providing or transferring spare vaccines to Vietnam as soon as possible.
For his part, Minister Vivian Balakrishnan underlined that Singapore always treasures the strategic partnership with Vietnam and believed that Vietnam will soon control the pandemic.
He added that the Singaporean government stands ready to support nearby countries, including Vietnam, with medical supplies and equipment, test kits as well as vaccines as soon as possible.
He hoped that the two sides could soon reopen their borders, facilitating the travel of citizens of both countries.
Regarding the bilateral relations, the two ministers pledged to further strengthen cooperation in political affairs, economy, trade, investment, and education-training to improve the Vietnam - Singapore strategic partnership.
