PANO - The third Forum of the Organization for Economic Coooperation and Development (OECD) on Southeast Asia opened in Hanoi on June 14th. It is the first of its kind held in Vietnam.
Participants include Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, OECD’s Deputy Secretary General Douglas Frantz, ASEAN’s Deputy Secretary General Akp Mochtan, Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Masakazu Hamachi and more than 200 international and domestic delegates and experts.

Themed “Boosting Productivity and Inclusiveness in Southeast Asia”, the forum has three discussion sessions, including boosting productivity in Southeast Asia, connecting small and medium-sized enterprizes (SME) in global value chain and inclusive development.
At the forum, delegates emphasized that productivity improvement and inclusive development are urgent demands for ASEAN member countries in the process of building ASEAN Community.
To improve productivity, good preparations on institutions, infrastructure, humanresources are needed together with efforts of narrowing development gap and boosting education and training.
