Vietnam, Cambodia promote solidarity
PANO – The Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association held a ceremony in Hanoi on November 9 to mark the 65th Independence Day of Cambodia (November 9, 1953 - 2018).
Speaking at the event, President of the association Vu Mao congratulated the Cambodian people on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Kingdom of Cambodia and stressed that Vietnam and Cambodia have a longstanding relationship and cooperation.
In order to strengthen solidarity between the two countries and the two peoples, the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association has cooperated closely with relevant agencies in the two countries to implement various meaningful activities such as sponsorship programs, supporting Cambodian students in Vietnam; the fourth Vietnam-Cambodia people's cooperation and friendship meeting program in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces; a fund-raising program for victims of a fire in Mittapheap Village, Cambodia, he noted.
On behalf of the Cambodian Royal Government, Ambassador Prak Nguon Hong expressed his gratitude for Vietnamese assistance to Cambodian people in previous struggle for national liberation and the current process of national construction and development. The Ambassador also believed that the solidarity is the basis for the two countries to continue strengthening their friendship and cooperation in the coming time.
