This year, the city’s Youth Union Committee selected 99 Lao and 36 Cambodian students from 150 submitted profiles of students studying at 14 universities and academies of the city to hand over certificates of merit.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Tran Thu Ha, Deputy Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City's Municipal Youth Union Committee, held that Ho Chi Minh City welcomes hundreds of Lao and Cambodian students to study undergraduate and postgraduate programs and short training courses every year. Currently, the city has more than 1,000 Lao and Cambodian students studying at 27 universities, colleges and institutes, she added.
