He was part of a ring trafficking drugs from Laos to Vietnam, which has been on local border guards’ radar.
Previously, on April 7, another Lao drug smuggler was caught red-handed in Laos’ Khammouane province’s Thakhek district. This was part of a joint investigation between the border force in the central province of Quang Binh, the Vietnamese high command of border guard’s department of drug and crime prevention, and the police force in Khammouane province.
The man was arrested while seeking ways to bring 30,000 pills of methamphetamine into Vietnam. He admitted that the drugs were bought from foreign countries.
Both cases are under further investigation.
