The ASEAN Film Week, part of the activities to mark Vietnam's ASEAN Chairmanship Year 2020, will open in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Deputy Minister Dong, despite the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, ASEAN member countries have actively sent films to the festival. The films will help ASEAN citizens and international friends learn more about ASEAN identities.
The program has attracted the participation of Brunei, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
After the opening ceremony, audiences watched the film “The Happiness of a Mother” from Vietnam. This is a feature film directed by director Pham Huynh Dong and produced in 2019.
