ASEAN Film Week 2020 to be held in Vietnam

The event is expected to be organized in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City in June or July. However, the schedule could be adjusted depending on the development of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The film week is part of the activities to mark Vietnam's ASEAN Chairmanship Year 2020 and is organized to promote connectivity among the cultures of ASEAN countries. The activities aim to build a peaceful, stable, dynamic, united and prosperous ASEAN community, which will strengthen mutual understanding and pave the way for economic cooperation.  Also, the event aims to raise the role and position of Vietnam in the community as well as affirm Vietnam’s commitment to realizing peace, stability and development in the region and the world. 

During the week-long event, themed “Cohesive and Responsive”, Vietnamese viewers will have an opportunity to enjoy outstanding movies from ASEAN member countries.

Through movies, organizers aim to popularize the cultures and people of ASEAN countries to international friends, help the Vietnamese people learn more about ASEAN members’ cultures and people as well as promote the beautiful values of the Vietnamese people.
