The ASEAN Film Week (AFW) 2016 was officially launched on September 20 in the Chinese city of Xi’an, Shaanxi province.

The event is part of activities to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations.

During the film week, which will run till September 23, 10 films from the ASEAN member nations, including “My Nhan” from Vietnam, will be screened widely at the Chinese city’s cinemas.

On the occasion, film studios from Vietnam, Singapore and Indonesia will sign memoranda of understanding on movie cooperation with Chinese partners.

An initiative to organize the first ASEAN-China film festival in 2017 will also be reviewed.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) consists of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
