Photo exhibition on Truong Sa and DK1 platform kicked off
PANO – Ho Chi Minh City’s Association of Photographers kicked off an exhibition introducing photos and a photo book about Truong Sa (Spratly Islands) and DK1 platforms on June 18 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The event introduces 90 outstanding photos taken by photographer Doan Hoai Trung during his five trips to Truong Sa island district and DK1 platforms.
Photographer Doan Hoai Trung used to be a reporter of the People’s Army Newspaper, and now he is President of Ho Chi Minh City’s Association of Photographers. He has made five trips to Truong Sa island district and DK1 platforms and taken photos of island troops and people with passion, love, and pride for the nation.
The exhibition also makes public a 180-page photo book with more than 200 photos reflecting the beauty of the island district, DK1 platforms, island troops’ training activities and observance of combat readiness regulations, naval troops’ daily activities, islanders’ production activities, mainland delegations’ visits to Truong Sa and DK1 platforms, historical relics and pagodas in the island district.
The photo book was published by the Thanh Nien (Youth) Publishing House and made public on the occasion of the 97th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day and to mark 20 years since photographer Doan Hoai Trung started his photography career.
The exhibition will run until July 18.
