In addition, they signed a commitment to build the “Residential area protecting marine resources” model in Trieu Phong district and presented dust bins to Trieu An commune to sort trash at source.

Right after the launching event, over 20 troops of the squadron and participating forces collected waste, cleaned up the local environment, and the beach in Trieu An commune.

On the occasion, Naval Squadron 202 presented 10 gifts, worth VND 1 million each, to needy fishermen in Trieu An commune. They also gave fishermen 1,000 leaflets on the fight against IUU fishing, 100 books on Vietnam Coast Guard Law, and 200 national flags.

These activities helped raise the awareness of organizations, units, and individuals of the role and importance of the sea and islands in the national building and defense cause and of environmental protection. They also contributed to arousing patriotism, solidarity and sense of responsibility to safeguard the national sovereignty over sea and islands and protect the environment among people from all walks of life, especially young generation.

Those deeds also helped honor the values of the ocean in human life, and encourage people to take practical actions to preserve and promote the values of marine resources, build and develop a sustainable sea economy coupled with national defense and security guarantee.
