The event attracted the participation of nearly 400 delegates, including officials of the local chapter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, dignitaries, religious monks, representatives of ethnic groups, Youth Union members, and youths, among others.

During the event, the delegates were provided with information about political security situation at sea and on islands, as well as the Party and State’s viewpoints and policies in protecting the national sovereignty over sea and islands, to name but a few.

They also studied role and position of sea and island strategy in the cause of maritime protection, Vietnam’s activities on safeguarding national sovereignty over its sea and islands, and the core role of the Vietnam People’s Navy in supporting local fishermen to do business at sea.

Naval Captain Le Hong Quang, Deputy Political Commissar of Brigade 125 underlined that such program helps local authorities and people be ready to fight destructive activities of hostile forces, consolidate the great national unity bloc, and mobilize resources to further assist local residents.
