Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 2 Senior Colonel Tran Hong Que said that the contest aimed to enrich teachers and students’ knowledge about national sea and islands; the Party and State’s documents related to national sovereignty over sea and islands and traditions of the heroic Vietnam Coast Guard; patriotism of Quang Tri people. The contest’s results would contribute to strengthening solidarity between troops and people, enhancing people’s patriotism and love for national sea and islands, and raising their responsibility for safeguarding national sovereignty over Vietnam’s waters.
