“I love national sea and islands” contest held for students in Quang Tri

The event attracted the participation of 60 outstanding contestants, representing 1,950 students of Cua Tung, Vinh Thai, and Kim Thach Secondary Schools and Trung Nam Primary and Secondary School.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 2 Senior Colonel Tran Hong Que said that the contest aimed to enrich teachers and students’ knowledge about national sea and islands; the Party and State’s documents related to national sovereignty over sea and islands and traditions of the heroic Vietnam Coast Guard; patriotism of Quang Tri people. The contest’s results would contribute to strengthening solidarity between troops and people, enhancing people’s patriotism and love for national sea and islands, and raising their responsibility for safeguarding national sovereignty over Vietnam’s waters.

At the event, the organizers awarded outstanding students joining the “National sea and islands and coast guard troops” drawing contest launched by the Coast Guard Region 2 Command.

On the occasion, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command handed over 40 scholarships, worth VND 1 million each, and 16 bicycles to needy students with good academic results.
