PANO - The culture and tourism week for Vietnam’s sea and islands was opened on November 21st in Hanoi in celebration of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23rd).

Jointly held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant organs, the event aims to honour and popularize the cultural values of Vietnam’s coastal regions and tourism potentials of Vietnam’s sea and islands to attract more investors, making contributions to socio-economic and cultural development along coastal areas. Besides, it is to raise youths' awareness of and responsibility for protection the cultural values of national sea and islands.

During the three-day event, many activities will be held, such as an exhibition, themed “Vietnam coastal tourism and cultural heritages”; a display of traditional handicrafts of coastal people; some art programs; and a drawing contest themed "National sea and islands".

After the opening ceremony, participants had an opportunity to enjoy an artistic performance entilted “Honouring Vietnam’s coastal culture and tourism”.
