Vietnam’s beauty through the lens of photographer Nong Thanh Toan
PANO - Born in the Northwestern province of Lao Cai, photographer Nong Thanh Toan has settled down in the Central city of Hue for 13 years now. For Toan, the peaceful and ancient city of Hue has become an inspiration for his photography.
The photographer has traveled throughout Vietnam to capture unforgettable moments in his photos.

Toan’s photo “Making incense” has recently won the first prize of Agora mobile app., bringing a reward of USD 1,000 to him. According to Toan, for over ten decades making incense has been traditional job and the pride of the people in Quang Phu Cau, in the outskirts of Hanoi. “Bundles of red incense sticks create an impressive frame,” said Toan. |

The flowers of wootung trees are often in full bloom in March. According to an Asian legend, the phoenix once perched upon this kind of tree. Therefore, in Hue, the trees are planted in sacred places, such as in the royal citadel or at the tombs of kings. |
