The park was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003. It has a number of spectacular underground rivers running inside caves, with unique and plentiful flora and fauna including hundreds of different types of birds. The park stretches over 800 km2, meaning that visitors will need plenty of time to experience all the wonderful landmarks and sights of the park.
6 other national parks on the list include Bromo Tengger Semeru and Komodo of Indonesia, Doi Inthanon and Khao Sok of Thailand, and Gunung Mulu and Taman Negara of Malaysia.
