At dawn, when the landscape was still covered in white mist, Nguyen Duy Manh, 35, and Hoang Thi Mai, 28, from Ho Chi Minh City, were strolling hand in hand around Xuan Huong Lake in Xuan Huong - Da Lat ward, Lam Dong province. Around them, locals and visitors were walking, jogging, or cycling.

Da Lat stays cool even in summer.

After a night rain, Xuan Huong Lake looked like an ink painting. Silhouettes faded into the mist, and vapor rose gently from the water. In the distance, landmarks, such as the Da Lat College bell tower, Thuy Ta restaurant, and Lam Vien Square appeared through the haze.

Near the pedalo dock, a music group livened up the morning with vibrant tunes, drawing many people to watch. Although it was mid-summer, the temperature there was only 17°C, and everyone wore light jackets.

For Manh, his wife and many other visitors, waking early to walk around Xuan Huong Lake is truly an unforgettable experience in every Da Lat trip.

“Saigon is extremely hot these days, but after just a few hours of travel, it feels like winter here. Da Lat’s romantic beauty and cool air always make it the perfect summer escape,” Nguyen Van Nam, a tourist, shared.

Unlike many other places, summer in Da Lat is not sweltering. Located on a plateau over 1,500 meters above sea level, temperatures range from 16-28°C, offering a pleasant climate even on the hottest days.

Beyond the cool weather, Da Lat in summer features lush greenery. Fresh jade-green leaves sprout on cherry-like apricot blossom trees along the streets and persimmon gardens in the outskirts, sparkling with morning dew. Walking under the green canopy, hearing birds sing, visitors feel a sense of renewal and vitality.

Summer in Da Lat is also a great time to enjoy food. In the chilly air, everything tastes better. Breakfast options are abundant, including pho, banh mi, mi Quang (Da Nang’s iconic noodle dish), bun rieu (rice vermicelli noodles and a signature savory crab paste mixture).

Da Lat cafés attract visitors during summer.

Lunch offers a variety of regional Vietnamese dishes, while evenings are perfect for grilled dishes and hotpot. Visitors sit close to each other, enjoying hot meals together in the cool night air. Coffee and café check-ins with diverse styles are also must-try experiences.

This summer, visitors to Da Lat can also enjoy various promotion offers.

Lam Dong province has launched the tourism stimulus program 2026. Since early April, more than 100 businesses have joined the program, offering 10-50% discounts and attractive deals. For example, TTC Phan Thiet Hotel offers 20-40% room discounts with “Stay & Dine” packages and group incentives; Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & Spa provides complimentary breakfast, vouchers for services, and signature food and drinks. Le Huu Phuoc, owner of Colmar homestay, said guests staying three nights or more will receive one free night until the end of May.

Although the weather is not too cold, visitors should bring a light jacket as the temperature drops at night. Afternoon showers may occur, so carrying an umbrella or light raincoat is recommended. As summer is the peak tourism season, early booking helps secure better plans and save costs.

With its natural advantages, Da Lat remains an ideal destination for families, young groups, and anyone seeking a peaceful retreat in fresh nature. It is not just a place to escape the heat, but also a journey to regain balance after a busy life.
