Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong highlighted milestones of Vietnam’s tourism sector in recent times, such as welcoming 20 million international visitors in a year for the first time and being recognized by the United Nations Tourism Organization (U.N. Tourism), together with Japan, as among the world’s fastest-growing tourism destinations in the first six months of this year.
He spoke highly of the contest, saying that it vividly demonstrated innovative, creative, continuous, and effective approaches to promoting and marketing Vietnam’s tourism. In addition, it has showcased the beauty of Vietnam, its people and tourism.
The official highly praised the effective integration between tourism and digital transformation, modern communication, and the development of the creative economy, with the active participation of digital content creators. According to him, many entries which were produced by tourism workers, local residents, and non-professional groups captured authentic and vivid moments that reflect the core values of Vietnam’s tourism.
Nguyen Thi Hoang Lan, Director of the Center for Digital Transformation of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Chief of the Editorial Board of the e-portal of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Head of the Organizing Committee, said that the contest generated an exceptional creative atmosphere beyond expectations. “What truly moved us was the participation of many ordinary people who love travel and cherish their homeland. They are not professional filmmakers, but the footage they submitted was authentic, vivid, and full of emotion,” she said.
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented 24 official awards along with several additional prizes, with a total prize value exceeding VND 600 million.
The first prize in the video clip category was awarded to “Vietnam - An impressive destination” by Hieu Nhi Travel, while the first prize in the video category went to “Ru Cha in autumn” by Le Tan Thanh.
In the coming period, outstanding works from the contest will be selected for use in domestic and international tourism promotion and communication activities, helping bring Vietnam closer to international friends with a youthful, inspiring, and vibrant image.
