Many Vietnamese fans are preparing to take tours to Thailand to encourage the Vietnamese football team at the coming 24th SEA Games. Meanwhile, travel agencies are offering several brand-new tours for them.
It takes time for Vietnamese fans to get Nakhon Ratchasima city, where the Vietnamese team will play its first matches, said Huy Hoan, an enthusiastic devotee of football in Hanoi. He might have to take a tour of a travel agency to get there, he added.
Aware of the demand of fans, travel agencies have introduced several special 5-day tours at prices ranging from US$350 to US$395 to see two matches of the team. In particular, Transviet company offers a 3-day tour at the cost of US$299 just to see one match.
Saigon Tourist has designed tours to new destinations in Thailand. Tourists will watch a football match in Nakhon Ratchasima city, visit Bangkok city and Damnoen Saduak market in Ayuthaya, a very popular site in the country.
Other travel agencies such as Vietravel and Vietran Tour are also presenting special tours for football supporters in Thailand.
A representative of Vietravel in Ho Chi Minh City said the company planned to send about 800 visitors to Thailand in December.
Vietran Tour also expects to bring 30 tourists to Thailand for 5 days to see the first two matches of the Vietnamese team against Malaysia and Singapore to be held on December 1 and 3.
Flags, drums, horns and other things to heighten the spirit of Vietnamese players have been prepared carefully by fans and travel agencies.
These days, air carriers such as Vietnam Airlines and Air Asia are busy booking tickets for passengers.
Earlier, the Thai Tourism Administration helped Vietnamese travel agencies to examine facilities, services and tourist sites in Nakhon Ratchasima city before launching tours to the country. In addition, they helped them buy football tickets at reasonable prices for Vietnamese fans.
The Vietnamese Olympic men’s football team will compete with the Malaysian team on December 1, Singaporean team on December 3 and Laotian team on December 8 at Municipality Stadium in Nakhon Ratchasima. Meanwhile, the women’s team will meet the Philippines on December 5 and the Laotian team on December 8 at Municipality Stadium in Tumbon Mueangpung city.
