Hanoi welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors during Tet
PANO – Approximately 515,000 visitors arrived in Hanoi during the 2019 Lunar New Year festival (Tet) from February 2 to 10, said the capital city’s Tourism Department.
This number, including nearly 163,000 foreigners and over 352,000 domestic holidaymakers, saw an increase of 10.3 percent compared to the same period last year.
According to the sector’s statistics, the tourism revenue was estimated to rise 33.3 percent year on year, reaching more than VND 2 trillion (around US$ 87 million).
During the Tet holiday, most of the foreign tourists came from the Republic of Korea, China, Malaysia, the US, the UK, and Japan.
