Speaking at the event, VUFO Chairman Phan Anh Son underlined that over the past years, the people-to-people diplomacy has obtained breakthrough outcomes, contributing to promoting solidarity, friendship and cooperation between Vietnamese people and people of countries in the world; maintaining a peaceful and stable environment; mobilizing external resources for the country’s development; and enhancing the country’s position and prestige.

Son also introduced the main features of VUFO's functions, tasks, organizational structure, system of member organizations, mission, vision, etc. He hoped to intensifying cooperation with universities, academies and colleges in external information and dissemination work, as well as people-to-people diplomacy.

Speaking highly of information shared by the VUFO Chairman, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thin, Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, expressed her hope that the VUFO will continue organize similar meetings annually, thereby creating more forums for universities, academies and colleges to share experiences in boosting people-to-people exchanges at higher education institutions, especially in the current context, many international students are studying in many universities in Vietnam.
