Phu Nhuan Jewelry JSC (PNJ) has recently started the construction of 31 houses of gratitude at the cost of VND 620 million in Binh Khanh commune, Can Gio district, Ho Chi Minh City.

PNJ’s Vice General Director Nguyen Tan Quynh said that the construction was part of activities to mark PNJ’s 20th founding anniversary. All 31 houses are to be inaugurated on April 28.

Binh Khanh is among five poorest communes of Can Gio District where 60 families are living in make-shift houses.

Since early this year, PNJ has carried out a wide range of charitable activities such as giving presents to Heroic Mothers in Cu Chi district (Ho Chi Minh City) and Quang Ngai province; raising funds for poor children and workers with the total value of more than VND 1.5 billion.

Celebrating the Lunar New Year festival, the company held an auction for a gold mouse which features President Nguyen Minh Triet’s signature to raise a VND 8.2 billion fund for the poor.
