Jacques Ballout, head of the cardiology department at Pierre Bérégovoy, said the hospital has been pleased with their working results, adding the reception of apprentice doctors has helped the hospital ease its workload amidst healthcare workforce shortage across the country.

In the same vein, Johnson Kwaku, head of the neurology department, held that the demand for psychiatrist has been on the rise globally post COVID-19, and expressed his hope for enhanced cooperation with Vietnam to create favorable conditions for doctors to serve an apprenticeship at French hospitals to improve their capacity.

The Vietnam – Germany hospital and Pierre Bérégovoy hospital have carried out various cooperation programs on the exchange of apprentice doctors and profession, free medical checks, and transfer of new technologies in surgery and treatment, mostly in cardiology, since 2017.
