Since its establishment, the Veterans' Association of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology has provided timely recommendations for the academy’s Party Committee and leadership to implement their missions. The personnel of the academy have always completed their assigned tasks and promoted good virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, making significant contribution to the overall achievements of the academy.

On the occasion of the 4th Congress, the Veterans' Association of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology released the yearbook to record the imprints and activities of the association, recognize contribution of generations of staff and members of the association to the national construction and defense cause in general and the scientific and technological development of the association in particular.

The yearbook collected the war veterans' own articles about their deep memories during the time of participating in the national struggle for the fatherland protection and working for the association.

At the seminar, delegates discussed and contributed important opinions to the contents and outlines of the yearbook as well as add significant information to the document before the  publication.

Addressing the seminar, Chairman of the Veterans' Association of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology Pham Thanh Son held that the publication of the yearbook is necessary because it helps to collect valuable information from the veterans.

The yearbook is also a good material to educate and encourage young scientists to follow their forefathers, contributing their knowledge to the national construction and defense cause.
