A delegation from the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), led by Administrator Charles F. Bolden, paid a working visit to Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) in Hanoi on December 10 to review cooperative results in space technology between Vietnam and the US.
At an exchange with Vietnamese scientists and students, Bolden expressed his hope that cooperation in space technology between Vietnam and the US will tighten, especially the application of satellite technology to observe the environment, natural resources and disasters.
NASA is able to cooperate with Vietnam in particular areas including space technology, geophysics, astronomy, astrobiology, natural disasters and climate change, he said.
The administrator also encouraged scientists, young researchers and students to cooperate with NASA to generate new ideas.
At the working session, both sides discussed and agreed on the possibility of cooperation on issues of mutual concern.
