Located in Vinh Trach Dong commune, Bac Lieu city, the Bac Lieu wind power plant is considered the biggest wind power project in Vietnam. With 62 wind turbines, the farm is the first in Southeast Asia, which is built on the continental shelf.
From the shore, tourists can see dozens of turbines rotating in the wind. Currently, this plant is preparing to start Phase 3 of its construction. As planned, the whole plant will have 133 turbines with a total capacity of 241.2 MW.
Thuy Duong and Bich Tram often come here on the weekends to take photos.
In early 2019, this area was recognized as a tourist destination by the Mekong Delta Tourism Association.
It is considered one of the most beautiful spots to shoot photos in Bac Lieu province. On average, this area attracts thousands of tourists each month.
Built by General Electric (GE), each turbine has a capacity of approximately 1.6 MW. Each tower is made of stainless steel and has a height of 80m. They also have a diameter of 4m and weigh over 200 tons.
The 42-m impellers are made of special plastic and have a self-closing control system to avoid being damaged by storms.
Visitors will be impressed by the huge turbines and the affordable VND 30,000 ticket price to explore this interesting destination.
Bac Lieu Wind Power is also famous for its environmental-friendly technology. This project is a new icon of Bac Lieu, greatly contributing to local development.
The wind turbines are located on the coastline next to a protective forest, creating a green and fresh ambiance.
Situated about 10 km from the center of Bac Lieu City, the transport system accommodates convenient travel for tourists to visit the wind farm.
