Leaders of the Vietnamese information and communication technology giant met with local authorities in the South-Central coastal on May 8.

At the working session, FPT chairman Truong Gia Binh proposed Binh Dinh allot about 100 ha of land in Quy Nhon city for the group to construct an AI-technology-education urban complex and another 1 – 2 ha to build a high school.

He said he wants to make Quy Nhon an AI hub of Vietnam.

Suggesting free land rent for educational activities, he asked authorities to soon licence FPT’s construction of its school and help the company enjoy the local preferential tax policy for high-tech industrial parks.

Binh also urged for cooperation in building e-governance, smart healthcare system and smart industrial parks in Binh Dinh.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung stated Binh Dinh pays attention to the development of science and technology and of a high-quality workforce.

Binh Dinh will create the best conditions possible for the FTP and other investors, he said, hoping that the cooperation with the group will help his province develop its e-governance and smart city systems and improve local administrative reform.

During the session, the sides signed a memorandum of understanding on investment cooperation concerning the FPT Binh Dinh education-AI complex project.

Built at a cost of more than VND 4.65 trillion (USD 198.8 million), the complex will span about 40 ha. The project consists of two phases. The first will be implemented on 5.3 ha in Quy Nhon’s Bac Ha Thanh urban zone between now and 2021, and the second, on 34.7 ha in Quy Nhon’s Long Van urban zone from 2021 to 2025.
