Southern border unit reviews collaboration on gratitude activities
PANO - The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City, in association with the municipal Border Guard Command, held a meeting on February 24 to review their twinning activities over a 4-year period (between 2012 and 2016) with the attendance of Major General Vo Van Le, Deputy Political Commissar of the municipal Border Guard Command.
At the event, participants were briefed on the collaboration between border units and fatherland front chapters of the city over the period. Accordingly, they organized various activities to provide supports to border troops and policy beneficiaries in the locality while mobilizing locals to follow the Party's guidelines and the State's policies as well as join hands in protecting national border areas and seas and islands.
Representatives of the two sides signing the collaboration program for the 2017-2020 period
Overall, the local fatherland fronts handed over 4 gratitude houses, a patrol boat, a cultivation area, and a garage, worth over VND 2.5 billion in total, to the municipal border units. In addition, they offered scholarships, worth over VND 500 million, to children of the city's border troops.
In the next period of 2017-2020, the two organs planned to continue their collaboration on implementing higher levels' directives and other gratitude programs such as "Clean water for border areas", building houses for disadvantaged troops, offering seed cows to needy people, to name just a few.
