Scholarships granted to needy students affected by COVID-19
PANO - The Young Pioneer Council of Ho Chi Minh City on September 5 handed over scholarships to pandemic-hit students with difficult conditions ahead of the new school year.
In the 2022-2023 academic year, the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization (HYPO)’s members and students throughout the city will implement practical and meaningful activities to celebrate major events, namely the city’s 11th congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU), the 12th National Congress of the HCYU, the 75th anniversary of Tran Quoc Toan movement, and others.
These activities will give them a better understanding of the organization’s traditional movements. Therefore, they will actively participate in social activities to support policy beneficiaries and needy people in the community.
On the occasion, the Young Pioneer Council of Ho Chi Minh City received 50 scholarships, worth VND three million each, from the Two Four Seven Joint Stock Company (JSC) and VND 1 billion from Amway Corporation.
The council used the donations to present 500 scholarships to students in Thu Duc city and 21 districts on the occasion of the 2022-2023 new school year. Five hundred other scholarships will be granted to students until the end of the academic year.
