Taking place in the context of the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the campaign, themed “Making the world cleaner,” aimed to spread a message of environmental protection to community.

At the event, organizers presented 300 specialized water tanks with 1000 liters capacity each and 3,000 national flags to fishermen in Ba Ria-Vung Tau. The gifts were seen as a source of encouragement for local fishermen to contribute to economic development and protecting the maritime environment and national sovereignty over sea and islands.

As a strategic economic hub in the South with a 305km-long coastline, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province has taken measures to protect the maritime environment and effectively exploit maritime resources for economic development.

At the launching ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Quoc Tuan called upon troops, fishermen, and tourists to reduce plastic waste to protect the environment.

Among the organizers, PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation has been an active participant in activities for the environment, showing its responsibility for the community. Particularly, the company, in association with other units, launched different activities, including a writing contest on maritime environment and a forum on managers’, reporters’ and businesses’ responsibility in protecting natural resources and the environment.
