PANO - The Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients (SAPP) of Ho Chi Minh City and Saigon Tourist on September 4 presented 500 scholarships (worth VND 1.2 million each) to disadvantaged, orphaned, and disabled students in District 12 and Binh Chanh district.

This is the sixth consecutive year the association has conducted this scholarship fund and so far it has granted over 2,900 scholarships, with a total value of VND 3.5 billion. Before the new academic year 2016-2017, the association also handed over nearly 1,660 scholarships, worth VND 1.7 billion in total, to support needy students and those with disabilities.

* Recently, the Tay Ninh provincial Military Command, in association with the provincial War Veteran Association, Phuoc Minh commune’s health station provided free health checkups and medicines to more than 400 local needy people. The unit also worked with the local authorities to popularize the significant position of the August Revolution (August 19) and the National Day (Sept. 2) as well as the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies to local people.
