The Fund for Vietnamese Young Talents received 136 valid applications from 53 agencies to select for the Award in various fields such as science-creativity, production, business-startup, administrative management, defense, security and safety, sport, culture and art, and social activities.

Among the nominees, 104 are male, 31 are female and nine are from ethnic minority groups.

Accordingly, the names of the 20 outstanding youths will be publicized on a number of online newspapers, including Tien Phong, Thanh Nien, Ho Chi Minh City Youth, Vietnamnet, Dan Tri and Hoa Hoc Tro, and the website of Vietnam Television Channel 6 (VTV6) for public voting.

The voting results will serve as a reference source for the organizers to choose the best 10 faces before they meet in mid-March.

The annual award is presented to mark the 85th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26th) and honor outstanding individuals with great achievements in national construction as well as promote movements of studying and conducting scientific researches among youths.

The Vietnam Outstanding Youth Faces Award is given to 10 youngsters under 35 with excellent performances in their areas for years, especially the year when they are nominated.

In the past 21 years, the award honored over 210 faces and another 210 faces received the “Potential Face” title.
