Construction kicked off on May 17 on a cultural house dedicated to the Pa Ko and Van Kieu ethnic groups living in Dakrong District in the central province of Quang Tri.
Located in Krong Klang Town, the project is a gift from President Truong Tan Sang to the ethnic people.
The two-storey stilt house will be built on an area of 8,400 square metres, including an outdoor stage, concrete ground for festive activities, garden and parking lot.
Built in the traditional architectural style of local ethnic groups, the house will be used to commemorate Uncle Ho and display traditional objects important to local ethnic groups.
Pa Ko and Van Kieu ethnic people make up 80 percent of the mountainous district's population. They contributed greatly to the success of the national wars against French colonialists and American invaders.
