At the ceremony, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Bui Van Cuong highlighted the significance of the tree-planting festival to the provincial agro-forestry development .

Last year, Dak Lak province planted more than 2,200 hectares of forest, meeting 152% of the set plan, raising the forest cover to 38.6%, an increase of 0.14% compared to 2018.

The same day, a similar festival was organized in Son La province by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, during which 4,000 trees were planted.

The local people will continue planting 16,000 trees in the province in coming days.

On the occasion, the Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee presented 60 gifts to disadvantaged families and poor children in Muong Sang commune, an orchard to a communal youth in need, and a clean water facility to Muong Sang Primary School.

Together with the tree-planting festival, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee also conducted a wide range of activities in response to the program “For a green Vietnam,” such as a short video-making competition and a program to collect more seedlings to achieve the goal of planting 6 million trees this year.
