Korean coach to use rewarded money for charity activities
Coach Park Hang-seo of the Vietnam national football team on December 16 announced he will donate the USD 100,000 he was rewarded for charities activities in the host country.
Speaking at a ceremony in Quang Nam province to receive the money from a donor following the victory of the team a day earlier, the Republic of Korea’s coach thanked Chairman of the Hoang Anh Gia Lai group Doan Nguyen Duc for inviting him to work in the position, which he said had created a chance for him to live and associate himself with the country, people and football of Vietnam.

He also thanked donor Tran Ba Duong, Chairman of the Truong Hai –Thaco group, for the generous rewards to him so far, including the USD 100,000 given after Vietnam championed the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2018. The coach said he will use the money to help develop the country’s most popular sport and ease the difficulties of the poor in Vietnam.
Vietnam held the Cup trophy again after 10 years by beating Malaysia 1-0 in the second-leg final of the tournament that took place at My Dinh National Stadium, Hanoi, on December 15 night. The national team took the first champion title of the AFF Suzuki Cup in 2008, also at My Dinh Stadium.
