This program, initiated by the Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper at the beginning of 2023, is expected to take place in 28 coastal provinces and cities nationwide, with a total budget of over VND 30 billion, aimed at supporting fishermen and joining hands with the local authorities to find solutions to remove the European Commission's yellow card on Vietnamese seafood regarding illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Speaking at the program, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Municipal People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong, emphasized that the city's authority has placed special emphasis on sustainable fisheries development linked to national defense and security tasks, issuing many supportive policies and management solutions suitable for the actual conditions.

Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong evaluated the program as a practical and politically significant activity that contributes to enhancing the effectiveness of information dissemination activities, helping fishermen in the city develop household economy, while also participating in protecting maritime sovereignty and effectively combating IUU fishing.
