Nearly 7,000 young people attended the opening ceremony of the ‘I Love Hanoi’ campaign in the capital city on October 6.

The event marks 58 years since the first Hanoi Liberation Day (October 10).

The campaign includes a series of socially beneficial activities, including a charity walk around Thien Quang Lake as a fund raiser for disadvantaged children from suburban communes.

‘Green traffic’ volunteers will be stationed at key junctions to direct vehicles and monitor road safety.

Protecting the environment, including cleaning the pottery road along the Red River, is another campaign priority.

In an effort to raise public awareness about road safety issues, the campaign has also created a visual exhibition targeting younger drivers, demonstrating the serious consequences of dangerous behaviour while also providing illustrated examples of more safety conscious behaviour that can prevent tragedy.
