Ho Chi Minh City spends more than VND 1,900 billion on Tet gifts for policy beneficiaries
PANO – The Ho Chi Minh municipal People’s Committee held a conference on February 3rd to review social activities during Tet holiday under the chair of Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong.

With the motto “Bring New Year to anyone”, the city spent more than VND 1,900 billion on gifts for policy beneficiaries, up by VND 800 billion compared with 2016.
The city did not organize fireworks on the Lunar New Year’s Eve, but a number of cultural activities were held citywide with the theme “Ho Chi Minh City - Bright Aspiration."
In particular, Nguyen Hue Flower Street, Spring Flower Festival, Spring Book Street attracted a large number of local people and visitors. Hospitals in the city were also on 24/24 duty to timely handle emergency cases.
At the conference, the city’s leadership presented certificates of merit to 265 outstanding groups in caring for people during the Tet holiday.
