The province now has 17,183 poor and 9,469 near-poor households. In 2025, Gia Lao plans to build or repair homes for 248 families of policy beneficiaries, 5,354 poor households, and 2,576 near-poor families. Funding allocations range from 30 million VND for repairs to 60 million VND (2,364 USD) for new homes, with a total budget of 438.57 billion VND.
Local authorities are prioritizing transparency and efficiency, ensuring that resources reach the intended beneficiaries. Chu Prong district, which has the highest number of substandard houses, at 1,078, has established a steering committee and mobilized community support to accelerate implementation.
In Ia Pa district, preparations for constructing 507 homes are nearly completed, with phased implementation beginning in early 2025. Authorities are consulting with beneficiaries on housing designs to ensure practicality and suitability. Contributions from individuals, organizations, and local residents are being encouraged to supplement construction costs.
With determined efforts across districts, Gia Lai is set to achieve its goal of eliminating substandard houses by mid-2025, providing families with a strong foundation for a better future.
