Joining local people in the celebration, the Chief of the General Staff expressed delight at the strong development of the province over the past time. Reportedly, Ha Nam has the highest economic growth rate in the Red River Delta region, ranking fourth nationwide, with the poverty rate reduced to only 2.01%. Notably, it is expected that by the end of 2024, the province will have 58 communes meeting the new-style and advanced new-style rural areas.

Gen. Cuong congratulated the Ha Nam provincial Party Organization, local authorities, and people on achievements in socio-economic development, defense and security consolidation, and enhancement of the material and spiritual life of the people.
The Chief of the General Staff took the occasion to review the outstanding achievements of the nation and the military over the past time. He emphasized that over the past time, the Vietnam People’s Army has continued to well perform its role as a combat, work, and production force; made significant contribution to the overall achievements of the country; actively participated in international missions.
The whole military has heightened revolutionary vigilance, maintained high combat readiness, provided timely advice to the Party and State to effectively handle situations, contributing importantly to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for the nation’s development.
Agencies and units have closely collaborated with local party committees, authorities, and mass organizations to successfully implement socio-economic and cultural development programs, support locals in eradicating poverty and building new-style rural areas. Performing combat mission in peacetime, the military has been pro-active and ready to be present in areas of danger to conduct rescue operations to protect the people’s lives and property. In September alone, the military mobilized nearly 458,000 officers and soldiers, along with over 10,000 vehicles, to help people cope with and overcome the consequences of Typhoon Yagi. This effort was highly praised by the Party, State, and people.

Gen. Cuong called on the Ha Nam provincial Party Committee, authorities, and people to continue promoting the spirit of unity, bringing into play the revolutionary traditions of the homeland, and well implementing the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws. He urged the province to synchronously implement measures related to socio-economic development and defense and security consolidation, pay attention to building effective self-managed community models, and effectively organize patriotic emulation movements to encourage people to actively participate in building a healthy, strong party, authorities, and mass organizations at the grassroots level.
In the joyful and festive atmosphere of the National Great Unity Day, on behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, Gen. Cuong presented gifts to policy families, national contributors, needy households, and elderly people in the locality.
