Distressed fisherman at sea brought ashore for treatment
PANO – Ship KN 472 of the Fisheries Surveillance Squadron No.4, on May 8, successfully and safely took a fisherman to Truong Sa (Spratly) Island’s Infirmary for treatment.
Earlier, at 7:00 the same day, the ship was ordered to approach and bring the fisherman ashore while patrolling near Da Dong (East Reaf) B Island.

Reportedly, fisherman Kieu Van Trong, born in 1991 from Long Hai, Phu Quy, Binh Thuan province, captain of fishing boat BTh 98804 TS, had an accident while fishing in the waters of the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands (Khanh Hoa province). He was then taken to Da Dong B island for emergency and treatment.
According to doctors, due to the regular practice of diving and fishing, the patient was under various pressure changes, which resulted in the paralysis of his whole body.
