Da Nang: Charity run helps improve newborn care
PANO - A running program, named Run Out, was held on May 5 in Da Nang city to fund-raise for improving survival and health for newborn babies in Da Nang city and other localities.
The event was part of activities in the framework of the upcoming IRONMAN 70.3 tournament which will take place in Da Nang on May 7.
More than 1,000 runners participating in Run Out on May 5
The 2.8-km race attracted the participation of more than 1,000 runners, including participants in the IRONMAN 70.3 tournament, and CEOs and workers of local and international companies in the city.
The participants donated in cash and valuable gifts to the Newborns Vietnam Organization that is supporting a specialized training program for doctors and nurses, and offering neonatal referral facility for neonatal care at the Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children.
The event aimed to raise awareness of and support the cooperation between Da Nang city and the Newborns Vietnam Organization in improving the life and care of newborns in the city and other localities.
Over the past two years, the program fund-raised over USD 50,000 for charity activities, especially in providing modern incubators for the nursing department of neonatal care at the Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children.
In the coming time, the Newborns Vietnam Organization will expand its pediatric training program to other hospitals in Central provinces of Vietnam and continue to support the Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children to save thousands of newborns in the region.
