Launched for the first time last year, the program aims to introduce special cultural features of Vietnamese traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) festival to both domestic and international friends, making contributions to preserving and promoting invaluable traditional cultural values of the country.
It is also an opportunity to promote Vietnam’s great unity and encourage the needy and ethnic minority people to have a warm and comfortable Tet.
During the program, artisans from Uoc Le hamlet, Tan Uoc commune, Hanoi, will guide the participants in wrapping the square-shaped cakes. In addition, organizers will prepare ingredients to make some traditional cakes of ethnic minority groups in Vietnam and introduce their Tet celebration customs.
A “neu” tree (planted by Vietnamese and Vietnamese ethnic minority people in their courtyards on the occasion of New Year festival to pray for peaceful, happy, and prosperous New Year for people) will be planted in the Culture-Tourism Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Minority Groups in Dong Mo hamlet, Son Tay.
